DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 8th\, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. \nPrincess Point Trail\, Royal Botanical Gardens \nPrincess Point Trail of the Royal Botanical Gardens offers a variety of habitats to attract migrating and resident birds\, including the shallow waters of Cootes Paradise\, the restored tall grass prairie on the peninsula\, and the surrounding forests.  There is a charge for parking there but is free if you have a displayed RBG pass.  Carpooling can be arranged. \nWhether you are an experienced birder or a novice\, join Debbie Lindeman and Dennis Price at 10:00 a.m. for a morning of birding and nature appreciation.  Please bring binoculars if you have them. \nPlease email Debbie at deborahlindeman3@gmail.com or call at (905) 389-0224 if you would like to participate.

DESCRIPTION:We will watch and then discuss the movie “Luther” from 2003. It depicts the journey of Martin Luther\, a German monk who becomes disillusioned by corruption in the Catholic Church. Starting with his vow to become a monk after surviving a thunderstorm\, the film chronicles his spiritual struggles\, how he challenges to Church doctrine especially the sale of indulgences and his bold act of posting the 95 Theses and his subsequent exile. Undeterred\, Luther translates the Bible into German\, marries Katharina von Bora\, and inspires a movement that ignites the Protestant Reformation\, emphasizing faith and scripture for all believers. \nDiscussion to follow and coffee\, tea and snacks will be served. \n
