Bird Watching Outing
July 13 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am
Join us for a morning of bird watching. Saltfleet Conservation Area is Hamilton Conservation Area’s (HCA) newest area to explore. New wetlands were created there in 2022 to reduce downstream flood risk and erosion to properties below the escarpment in Stoney Creek. The ponds are already starting to naturalize, attracting a variety of birds. The trail here also connects to the Dofasco 2000 Trail and is only a short walk to the Devil’s Punchbowl which we plan to take and bird along the way.
There is an $8.00 day fee for parking (free with HCA Membership Pass), so carpooling can be arranged.
Whether you are an experienced birder or a novice, join Debbie Lindeman and Dennis Price at 8:00 a.m. for a morning of birding and nature appreciation. Why the early start? The birds are most active first thing in the morning, and we will want to beat the summer heat in this open area. Please bring binoculars if you have them.
Please email Debbie at deborahlindeman3@gmail.com or text at (905) 745-6435 if you would like to participate. More detailed information will be given to you.
